Our surgeons from Budapest have a long experience with implants and can give you several advice about which solution to choose.

A safe and painless treatment

The Swedish implant method the Brånemark System has already helped more than 450 000 people worldwide. This method can restore chewing function and sensation of having regained the natural teeth, and consequently it's not so strange that the demand for dental implants is increasing year after year.

The Budapest Clinic AS can offer you a free consultation to determine if the implants may be an option for you. If you need several implants and want to be done with the insertion quickly we can offer the Nobel Guide which is insertion of implant within an hour.

dental_3DCT.jpgWe always take a 3DCT scan before the insertion of the implants. The images are used for planning and deciding if this is the correct treatment for you. The surgeons prepares everything from studying the photos until you are ready for insertion.

A big advantage of using 3DCT is that we can plan the insertion before the surgery starts. This means that the procedure is shorter and your treatment will be finished sooner. You as a patient will therefore not experience less pain and swelling, and can function almost normally immediately after the surgery.

The element titanium can be accepted by te body almost as if it was part of its on tissue. This means that the patients can get produced roots made from titanium that is inserted down and grows quickly into the jawbone.

With a small intervention the dentist may attach titanium screws, or fixtures in the technical term, in the jaw. On fixtures attached to a so-called abutment that protrudes through the cuts. A crown or bridge is then glued or screwed onto the abutment.

When treatment is carried out it is important that the patient is healthy, but also patients with a balanced disease can get implants. Advanced age is rarely a problem.

Complications are uncommon
The surgery usually takes place using local anaesthesia and is painless. Over the next few days after the surgery, there may be some swelling and aching.

Severe and extensive complications are extremely unusual. In a few cases the implant may not attach to the jawbone and then we usually perform a second operation. The alternate is to attach the implant to fewer fixtures than what was originally planned from the beginning of treatment.

Bone quality is essential
Loss of one or several teeth may cause the area of which the tooth root is set, to become under stimulated. It can lead the bone to slowly dissolve. The advantage of implant is that the bone is stimulated and usually the dissolving stops.

The longer one waits with implant treatment, the greater the risk that there is not enough bone left to anchor fixtures to. In this case it may be possible to transplant a bone. This ensures that the fixtures are stably attached to the bone.

The quality of the bone is crucial for the amount of fixtures we are able to implant. In an edentulous jaw it is common for the dentist to implant six fixtures. A bridge of new teeth can then be attached to these fixtures.

Sometimes it is not possible to attach this many fixtures. If so there is an option of inserting a removable prosthesis, a so-called over denture. Despite the fact that it is removable, it has a firm grip onto the fixtures and will not slide around which a prosthesis may do.

When missing a single tooth
An implant is a gentler, durable and generally more aesthetic alternative to a bridge that has been the most common treatment for filling tooth slots until now. The bridge relies on support from the teeth in front of and behind the tooth slot, which means that the dentist usually has to grind down health tooth issue to accommodate the bridge.

When missing several teeth
When many teeth are missing or when the teeth that remain are of poor quality attaching a bridge is not always possible. Previously prosthetics has been the most common method of treatment in these cases. It is attached with small hooks or clams to the remaining teeth, It can also be fixed onto gums much like a suction cup. The downside is that it can be difficult to get used to a prosthesis because it might gnaw into your cheek and feel loose.

With the help of the implant it is now possible to get firm teeth to replace the prosthesis. Research shows that 90% of all implants produced for a toothless jaw are successful.
